Privacy Policy

At Alexander Aged Care Centre, we hold the privacy and dignity of our residents, families, and staff in the highest regard. This policy explains our commitment to managing your personal and health information securely, ensuring we remain compliant with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the 13 Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), and the Aged Care Quality Standards.

Defining and Collecting Personal Information Personal information refers to any details or opinions that can identify an individual. We collect this data from residents, clients, contractors, volunteers, and job applicants during our standard operations.

To provide high-quality aged care, we may collect:

  • General Details: Names, contact info, birthdates, next of kin, photos, and financial data.
  • Sensitive Data: Government identifiers (TFNs), religious beliefs, nationality, and legal documents like Powers of Attorney.
  • Health Records: Medical history, disability support needs, and psychological assessments.

During recruitment, we also collect employment-specific data such as references, accreditation, and vaccination status. We prioritize transparency and will generally obtain written consent before collecting sensitive or health-related information.

Note: While standard employee records are exempt from certain APPs, all health records for current or former staff remain protected under the Victorian Health Privacy Principles.
