RE: Update from The Alexander Pandemic Preparedness Committee
Dear Residents, Staff, Families & Friends of The Alexander Aged Care Centre,
As Victoria has moved into Stage 4 Restrictions due to the current concerns with COVID-19, we are pleased to say that we remain COVID-19 free.
Our Pandemic Preparedness Committee have been busy keeping on top of our Outbreak Management Plan. The spotlight for us this week has been on infection control training and double-checking practices. All staff continue to show they understand infection control and they are all dedicated to keeping the residents safe and well.
Previously, we have mentioned the Older Persons Advocacy Network (OPAN) in our letters. They have fantastic support services and information available to families and older persons and we encourage you to look up their website at opan.com.au or telephone 1800 237 981. Support is also available at Beyond Blue Coronavirus Mental Wellbeing Support Service 1800 512 348 and Lifeline available 24/7 on 13 11 14.
If you would like to book in a Zoom appointment, please do not hesitate to contact Jenny at reception. Zoom conferencing is operating Monday to Friday from 9.30am to 12.30pm. If you would like to book in a Zoom meeting or schedule a window meeting with your loved one, please contact reception or email .
We have attached information regarding emergency leave for residents during the COVID-19 pandemic. This process has been introduced by the Department of Health. Please contact the facility if you would like further information regarding this option.

Please remember to access COVID-19 updates via the Victorian DHHS website or via our website, www.thealexanderagedcare.com.au.
A reminder to please ensure you advise us of any changes to your contact details as you will be the primary contact should we need to communicate with families about a COVID-19 case or outbreak.
Today we celebrate aged care employee day. We sincerely thank each one of our team including nurses, carers, administration and maintenance staff, lifestyle, kitchen, cleaning and laundry staff. You continue to work together during such a difficult, stressful and unprecedented time to ensure the safety and wellbeing of each resident. Thank you to everyone for your ongoing commitment and support, you are what makes The Alexander such a wonderful facility. We are sure that each resident, family member and friend sends their heartfelt thanks to you all.
As usual, please do not hesitate to contact us if you ever have any queries or concerns.
Yours sincerely,
