Australia’s biggest ever tribute to aged care staff

Today is Aged Care Employee Day, the nation’s biggest ever tribute to the age services workforce! Today is also the day we announce the State winners of theExcellence in Age Services 2020 Awards.

Our theme #ThanksforCaring recognises the more than 360,000 staff who are involved in caring for 1.3 million older Australians receiving age services.

This includes nurses and care workers, allied health professionals, hospitality teams, drivers, cleaners, volunteers, lifestyle officers, administration staff and many, many others.

LASA is proud to be joined by ACSA, Aged Care Guild, Anglicare Australia, Baptist Care Australia, Catholic Health Australia and UnitingCare Australia in celebration of Aged Care Employee Day 2020.

The day is set to receive major media coverage, with a ‘Feel Good Friday’ segment on Channel 7’s Sunrise at 7:40am AEST and a Studio 10 live cross to Bolton Clarke in Brisbane at 9.45am AEST this morning.

In the lead-up to Aged Care Employee Day, providers and prominent Australians have been sharing #ThanksforCaring videos on social media.
