POSITION: CHEF CASUAL
The Alexander Aged Care Centre is a boutique modern 90 bed home. The home supports people requiring all levels of care including a 10 bed memory support unit. The facility is highly regarded in the community and is run by an organisation committed to providing the highest quality of care.
We are seeking a Casual Chef to provide support to the Chef Manager and Catering Service Team.
This role requires an individual who will be highly organised with a natural ability to communicate with a wide range of employees and Managers while working in a collaborative environment. This position is supported by the Chef Manager and Senior Management Team.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the chef to lead and support the Food Services Assistants (FSA) to consistently deliver safe, quality consumer-centred meals according to the vision and strategic direction set by the Senior Management Team.
Promotes a service culture that supports consumers’ health, safety and well-being and is inclusive of their identity, culture and diversity.
Efficient allocation and utilisation of resources for safe and quality catering services.
Support a culture of safety that empowers the FSAs to speak up and raise concerns and to work together to seek solutions for consumer safety concerns.
Accurate, transparent and timely quantitative and qualitative information is used for decision making when planning and prioritising resources and; to monitor and improve outcomes and experiences for consumers.
Monitors the areas of risk and escalation (both internal and external, as relevant) occurs and that appropriate response actions are taken where safety is compromised.
Transparent and open communication occurs with consumers about incidents that have caused harm.
Monitors the safety of staff, consumers and visitors.
Tertiary qualification in HR/relevant studies or experience working in a similar role
Eligibility Criteria:
- Tertiary qualification and experience working in a similar role
- Passion for working with people and willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- The capacity to work well autonomously and in a team environment
- Current Police Record Check (PRC)
- COVID-19 vaccination (3rd Dose Minimum)
- Excellent communication skills & demonstrated ability to engage in conversation with consumers & their representatives
- Knowledge of Aged Care Quality Standards
- The ability to demonstrate compassionate, kind & respectful interactions with diverse consumers & fellow staff
